Yorkshire Dales Cheese Festival: Celebrating Local Produce returns 10–19 October 2025, shining a spotlight on the region’s outstanding cheesemakers, farmers, and food producers.
Spread across the National Park, the festival offers tastings, workshops, walks, pop-up cafés, and special menus in unique locations – all celebrating the flavours of the Dales.
Festival Schedule
Friday 10 – Sunday 19 October
- Say CHEESE at The House at Hawes – Fairview House, Hawes
Accommodation offer with a delicious foodie twist to mark the festival. - Wensleydale Cheese Pairings – The Cheese Press, Richmond (10am–4pm, times vary)
Sample artisan pairings showcasing the versatility of Wensleydale cheese. - Walks, Ales & Artisan Cheese – The Station Inn, Ribblehead (Walks from 10am, pairings 12–9pm)
Combine fresh air with guided walks and a locally inspired beer-and-cheese menu. - Cheesy Afternoon Tea for Two – Wensleydale Creamery, Hawes (11am–4:30pm)
Indulge in quiche, mac & cheese, rarebit, cheesecake, and Yorkshire tea. - Ashes Farm Pop-Up Café – Near Ribblehead (12–4pm)
Homemade cheese scones, Ploughman’s lunches, and cakes in aid of charity. - Yorkshire Cheese & Wine Pairing – Elsworth at the Mill, Skipton (6:30–11pm)
Five courses of artisan cheese expertly matched with wines.
Saturday 11 October
- Ledge ‘n’ Dairy Cheese Board – How Stean Gorge, Lofthouse
A daring cheese board suspended above the gorge – a Gouda time guaranteed. - A Taste in Time Experience – Dales Countryside Museum, Hawes (10am–4pm)
Explore Victorian kitchens, make chutney and butter, and enjoy a tasting session. - Guided Walk & Stonebeck Cheese – Low Riggs Farm via How Stean Gorge (2–5pm)
Meet rare-breed cows, learn about sustainability, and sample the farm’s cheese. - A Cheesemonger’s Tasting History – The Courtyard Dairy, Austwick (7–9pm)
Author Ned Palmer takes guests through the story of British cheese with optional drinks.
Sunday 12 October
- Meet the Maker – Aysgarth Falls Visitor Centre (10:30am–4pm)
