Tower of Now Exhibition for Bradford 2025

Tower of Now is a striking new public sculpture by internationally acclaimed artist Saad Qureshi, created for Bradford 2025 and set to become a landmark in the heart of the city centre.

Rising to an impressive 15 metres — taller than three double-decker buses — this intricate work pays tribute to the many cultures and communities that shape Bradford and the UK today. Inspired by Qureshi’s memories of growing up in the city, the sculpture weaves together architectural details from around the world, crafted in his signature detailed woodwork but on an ambitious, monumental scale.

Qureshi moved to Bradford from rural Pakistan at the age of eight, quickly finding his place in what he describes as “a community defined by diversity”. Exactly 20 years after leaving to pursue his art career, he returns with his most significant public work to date, reflecting the stories and heritage that shaped him.

Tower of Now stands as a beautiful and thought-provoking symbol of how places and buildings shape our sense of identity, while celebrating Bradford’s vibrant, multicultural spirit in 2025 and beyond.
