Earth and Sky Exhibition

Earth & Sky is an immersive sound walk weaving music, poetry and nature into a unique outdoor experience on the moors of Penistone Hill Country Park, high above Haworth.

Created by Bradford 2025 and Opera North, this evocative journey invites you to hear the landscape in a whole new way. Composers Caterina Barbieri, Nyokabi Kariũki, and Gwen Siôn have crafted new works inspired by the dramatic upland setting and the music of Frederick Delius, the renowned Bradford-born composer whose work celebrates the natural world.

The soundscape blends electronic sounds, African influences, and performances by the Orchestra of Opera North, layered with field recordings by Sarah Keirle Dos Santos and poetry by Nabeelah Hafeez. As you walk, the music and spoken word shift around you, triggered step by step through state-of-the-art geolocation technology.
